THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bibliophiles in the capital will get an opportunity to enrich their libraries with the latest titles as 100 publishers will be vying with each other to bring out the best at the Thiruvananthapuram International Book Fair which will get under way at Kanakakunnu Palace on Friday.

Minister for Education and Culture M.A. Baby told reporters here on Wednesday that international publishers like Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Penguin, Sage, Pearson, Scholastic, Rutledge; Indian publishers like National Book Trust, Tulika and Left World and all major Malayalam publishers would participate in the book fair.

The 11-day fair is being organised by the Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature in connection with the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival.

Copyright Table being organised in association with Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the highlights of the fair.

As many as 40 Indian publishers would take part in the Copyright Table for the sale of copyrights from December 20 to 22. Former National Book Trust director Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharya would inaugurate the programme.
