Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi has said changes in curriculum should be based on a proper perspective that takes into account future requirements.

Inaugurating the valedictory of the year-long 150th anniversary of the erstwhile Municipal High School here, now named Kannur Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, the Minister said on Friday that students and teachers had been the worst victims of educational experiments in the past.

Future needs of society should be factored in while attempting to change the curriculum or introduce other experimental changes, he said.

Former Supreme Court judge V. Khalid, a former student of the school, was honoured at the function.

The Minister presented him with a shawl and a memento.
