Kochi: Kerala secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Pinarayi Vijayan, who is the seventh accused in the SNC-Lavalin case, could not make it to the CBI Special Court here on Thursday for appearing in the case as he was undergoing treatment in a hospital.

When the case came up for hearing, counsel for Mr. Vijayan sought to exempt him from appearing before the court for the day on medical grounds. The court accepted his plea. The court granted bail to the five accused who appeared before the court on Thursday.

The case was adjourned to December 30.
