The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K) is launching its annual national management festival, “Backwaters,” with a management workshop series called “Shiksha.”

The workshop will be held on the institute's campus on November 18 and 19.

Undergraduate students and postgraduate management students in the State can interact with the faculty members and the students of the institute and expert industry speakers at the workshop, an event organiser said here on Monday.

The initiative is seen as another step in the institute's efforts to use its resource base to throw up advisory and counselling opportunities for the development of the region. In August, the institute organised a management development programme for the State Cabinet.

Details of the new programme can be had on While the thrust of the programme for undergraduate students will be on personality development and career counselling with sessions on marketing and finance, the postgraduate management students can get a simulated IIM classroom experience with case studies, insights from the lecture series, and simulation games with a regional flavour.

“Shiksha” participants can take part in competitive events and win cash prizes. With the faculty members involved in the design of the programme, “Shiksha” will be an opportunity for students to get a feel of life on the institute campus.
