KALPETTA: Adivasi Kshema Samithi (AKS) State president K.C. Kunchiraman, MLA, inaugurated a 24-hour hunger strike of its district leaders being staged in front of the Wayanad Collectorate on Friday morning.

The samithi leaders demanded that the government provide land to all landless tribal people in the district. Other demands include distribution of excess land under the possession of bigger plantations to tribal people, basic amenities for tribal people who got possession of land under the Forest Rights Act and solution to problems of tribal rehabilitation projects at Pookode and Cheengery.
