PALAKKAD: The Estimate Committee of the Kerala Legislative Assembly has felt the need for more infrastructure facilities at the inter-State check-post in Walayar.

Committee members N. Anirudhan, K.V. Kunhiraman and A.C. Moideen visited the check-post after holding a sitting at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

They felt that there should be more staff to manage the large number of vehicles passing through the check-post. They said the proposed Integrated Check-Post would take at least four years to complete.cBut till then there should be more yards to check the vehicles and parking facility for the vehicles waiting for the checking.

Holds discussions

The Committee members held discussions with a team of senior officials led by Paul Antony, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Department, on the facilities to be provided at the check- post urgently.
