KOLLAM: The alleged neglect of basic facilities has resulted in many inmates of the Pre Matric Boys Hostel for Scheduled Communities at Mundakkal here contracting skin disease. Eleven of the inmates have festering sores on their skin. District Collector A. Shajahan inspected the hospital on Tuesday and issued directives for taking emergency corrective measures. The Collector also gave orders for conducting a medical camp at the hostel on November 15. Inmates said there was no proper water supply in toilets and they depended on the neighbouring Post Matric Hostel for drinking water. They alleged that the warden rarely came to the hostel. —Staff Reporter
