Sergeant Ronnie T. Jacob, a class 11 student of Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, has won the Prime Minister's Silver Medal for the best cadet in the country (Army division).

He was one among the five National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets elected to attend the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi.

A press note issued here said Ronnie also attended the Prime Minister's Rally. A good debater, Ronnie was selected as the Master of Ceremony at the all-India level for the NCC cultural programme.

He was presented with a cash award of Rs.5,600 and a memento by Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb, and a cash award of Rs.5,000 from the NCC Directorate for his achievements.

This is the second time that Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, is winning a Prime Minister's Medal on Republic Day. In the year 2010, Cadet Kannan Nair won the Prime Minister's Bronze Medal (Navy division).

Cadet Ronnie is the youngest son of K.T.P. Sunny Jacob and Minni Jacob. His brother Sony T. Jacob was the school captain of Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, during 2011.
