Sailors in the chemical oil tanker Royal Grace, which was hijacked by Somalian Pirates off Oman coast in last March, have been released.

Dibin, 22, son of Arangathu Paramabil Davis of Mapranam, Stanley, 22, son of Thelappilly Mangalath Vincent of Karuvannur, Arjun of Thiruvananthapuram, Maneesh of Kollam, and Midhun of Ottappalam, were among the 22 crew in the Panama-flagged chemical oil tanker Royal Grace, hijacked by Somalian pirates on March 2.

Friends and relatives of the sailors had recently taken out a Collectorate march and observed a hunger strike urging the government to take immediate steps for their release.

On Friday evening, relatives of Dinbin got a message about his release. It is learnt that the pirates released the hostages after taking a ransom.

The sailors have been taken to Oman, according to the relatives.
