To be held over 13 days insteadof the usual 10 days

The State higher secondary examinations of 2013 will begin on March 4. The examinations will be held over 13 days instead of the usual 10 days. The first examination will be English paper 1 for the second year and part three, Gandhian Studies and Statistics for the first year.

According to a press note issued here on Monday, the second year examinations will be held in two schemes; scheme one for those who have gained first year admissions from the academic year 2008-09 and scheme two for those who have gained admissions to the first year from 2006-06 to 2008-09.

Migration certificate

From 2013, all students who write the second year examinations will be given the migration certificate along with the examination certificate when they become eligible for higher studies. They need not apply separately for the same.

From 2013, ‘compartmental’ candidates who write the second year examinations will be given the consolidated mark list as and when they become eligible for higher studies. No separate fee has to be remitted for this. These certificates would be distributed through the respective schools within 15 days of the publication of the results, the press note said.

Last date

The last date for submitting applications without fine for the second year examinations is December 3.

The last date for submitting applications without fine for the first year examinations is December 5.

The fee for the regular candidates for the second year is Rs. 125. In addition to this Rs. 50 has to be remitted as certificate fee, including that for the migration certificate. ‘Compartmental’ students should remit Rs.30 per paper as fee and certificate fee of Rs. 50.

The examination fee for the first year is Rs. 125 and the certificate fee, Rs. 20. The application forms are available on the higher secondary portal and at all higher secondary schools.

Open School

Students of Open School should submit the applications at the examination centres allotted to them and ‘compartmental’ students, at the centres where they wrote the examinations before.

March 5 — Part two languages, computer information technology; March 6 — Statistics, Gandhian Studies; March 7 — Geology, Sanskrit Literature, Electronics Service Technology; March 11 —Physics, Part three languages, Social Work, Music; March 12 — Chemistry, Communicative English, Sanskrit (sasthra); March 13 — Psychology, Home Science, Accountancy, Geography, Philosophy, Anthropology; March 14 — Biology, Journalism; March 16 — Computer Science/applications, Electronics, History, Islamic History and Culture; March 18 — Mathematics, Sociology, English Literature; March 19 — Business Studies; March 20 — Economics; March 21 — Political Science.

The timetable for the first year examinations is as follows.

March 5 — Geology, Sanskrit Literature, Electronics Service Technology; March 6 — Part one English; March 7 — Part two languages and Computer Information Technology; March 11— part three Business Studies; March 12 — Political Science, Communicative English, Sanskrit (sasthra); March 13 — Psychology, Home Science, Accountancy, Geography, Philosophy, Anthropology; March 14 —Economics; March 16 — Chemistry; March 18 — Mathematics, Sociology, English Literature; March 19 — Biology, Journalism; March 20 — Physics, part three languages, Social Work, Music; March 21 — Computer Science/Applications, Electronics, History, Islamic History and Culture.
