A division bench of the Kerala High Court on Thursday closed a petition filed by the Ernakulam unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) against the Aluva Municipality granting licence to the Muslim Youth Movement to hold a convention at the Aluva Manappuram.
The petition filed by VHP district secretary K.P. Sasindran was disposed by the Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A.V. Ramakrishna Pillai, in view of the government submission that the land where the congregation would be held did not form part of the Aluva Mannappuram. The High Court was told that the venue had separate access.
The organisation proposed to hold the meet on February 1 and 2.
The petitioner contended that the organisation had not stated in its application the registration number and its application did not have proper seal or other details.
