: The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, deferred for four weeks the hearing on the Neyyar river dispute between Tamil Nadu and Kerala and asked the States to identify issues to be decided by it.

A Bench comprising Justices R.M. Lodha and S.K. Singh asked the States to decide and exchange the issues between them before submitting them to the court. The counsel appearing for Tamil Nadu pleaded for interim relief, but the bench said it would look into their demand and adjourned the hearing.

During the hearing, the issue of Mullaperiyar dam also came up and the Bench said it would take some time to deliver the verdict as voluminous records had been filed in connection with the case. — PTI
