A harvest festival was held at Uzhinjal Paddy fields at Puthukkad on Friday. Puthukad MLA, C. Raveendranath, inaugurated the festival. The farmers led by Kerala Sasthra Shaitya Parishad cultivated paddy in 22 hectares of fallow land. People from different walks of life, including software engineers, students and artists, participated in farming. The farmers are now planning to cultivate vegetables in the post-harvested field. The students of Puthukkad Anganwadi also participated in the festival.
