M. Joel Modestus, a first-year student of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K), has won the prestigious Harvard Business Review/McKinsey M-Prize for Management Innovation this year, according to an IIMK release here.

The selection process for the award had two rounds, comprising the presentation of an idea and its improvisations. The result of the first round was declared on July 31 and Mr. Modestus was among the 18 finalists from around the world. He was one of the nine winners from around the world and among the only two Indians when the result of the second round was announced on September 28.

The other winner from India is Lalgudi R. Natarajan who is a director at Titan Industries.

The award would ill be presented to the winners at an event to be held in New York next year, said the release.
