S. Sivaprasad is now convinced that his decision to relocate to Kochi from Kodungallur was right.
This alumnus of the Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya at Kakkanad has been ranked third in the Kerala engineering entrance examination.
Sivaprasad, who hails from Kodungallur, passed his tenth standard examination from the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan in his home town.
“I decided to move to Kochi so that I could attend the classes in an entrance examination coaching institute in Palarivattom along with my regular studies. Leaving home was a tough decision,” he says.
His parents, Karuvathu Sudheer, a soil conservation officer, and Sona Ravidas, an assistant engineer with the Kerala Water Authority, honoured his wish.
He worked hard but was no bookworm. He found time for extra-curricular activities and had entered English elocution and recitation contests.
“I knew I would fare well in the examination, but the third rank came as a total surprise. I am happy,” he says.
He is awaiting the results of the Indian Institute of Technology entrance examinations for which he had appeared.
“I will choose a course and college after seeing the results,” he says.
Sivaprasad also found time for extra-curricular activities.
