KOCHI: An exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms organised by Gujarat Emporium has begun at the Women’s Association Hall here.
The event is aimed at improving the livelihood of craftsmen and handloom weavers and to avoid middlemen.
Apart from artefacts from Gujarat, items from eight other States are on display. Among the curios on show are puppets, idols and gift items. It will be open up to November 16.
Rajasthani jewellery made of precious and semi-precious stones, saris, churidars, dress materials, bedsheets, gaghra-choli, tie and dye salwar sets, mats, feng shui articles, white metal ornaments, Gujarati bangles, Chanpatna toys and terracotta products are on show.
Gujarati puppet show with tribal music too has been arranged.
The products are priced from Rs 10 to Rs 10,000. Rebate is available on handloom and handicraft items.
