Chamber gives reception to Ministers and other members of the team

KOCHI: A team of ministers and MLAs from Gujarat, led by Kaushikbhai Patel, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, was accorded a reception by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city on Tuesday. Mr. Patel said the team was in the State to study Kerala's success in tourism sector as the Gujarat Government had declared 2006 the year of tourism.

He said Gujarat had forged ahead in the areas of traditional industry, information technology and agriculture and wanted to do well in tourism too.

On the Gujarat team are Ratilal Sureja, Minister for Irrigation, Surendrabhai Patel, MP, and Chandrikaben Chaudasma, MLA.

They will tour the State for four days and make a report of the success of Kerala in tourism sector.

The Gujarat Government has sent out 10 teams to make studies of the experiences of various States. K.V. Thomas, MLA, addressed the gathering, while president of the chamber C.P. Jain welcomed the gathering.
