KOLLAM: General secretary of Kerala NGO Association Kottathala Mohanan said State Government employees would strike work on December 12 to press their demands.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday along with other leaders of the association, he accused the Left Democratic Front Government of ignoring the long-pending demands of the employees and harassing members of the pro-United Democratic Front service organisations by way of large-scale transfers in violation of service rules.

He said in a reply given in the Assembly, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac had said that it would not be possible to implement the salary revision with retrospective effect.

Moreover, since payment of four pending DAs would require around Rs. 700 crore, the Government had not taken any decision in this regard. Even the flaws in salary revision had not been rectified.

District president of NGO Association B. Reghu said the 32nd district conference of the organisation would be held here on October 11 and 12. Congress leader G. Karthikeyan will formally inaugurate the conference on October 12. State president of the association R. Rajan Kurukkal will inaugurate the delegates' session. A symposium on `LDF Government's education policy' will be inaugurated by the KPCC general secretary K.C. Rajan.
