Government ignoring people’s problems: CPI

The United Democratic Fund (UDF) government has ignored the problems of commoners, Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary Pannian Ravindran has said.

Addressing a function after inaugurating the renovated E.J. Francis Memorial Building here on Friday, he said, “The Chief Minister and the KPCC president are running across the State aimlessly. They don’t have time to solve the problems of the common man. They don’t have the will to understand people’s issues. Even the drinking water sources have been sold to capitalist forces.”

Malnutrition deaths

He criticised the Chief Minister for not visiting Attappady where more than 40 children died of malnutrition.

CPI district secretary C.N. Jayadevan inaugurated the E.J. Francis remembrance meeting, while district president M.R. Ramesh presided over. Joint council former chairman M. Vijayan delivered the E.J. Francis Memorial lecture. Former Minister K.P. Rajendran, joint council chairman Ahmed Kutty Kunnath, CPI State council member and district panchayat member Sheela Vijayakumar, corporation councillor Saramma Robson and others participated.
