The 46th State meeting of the Kerala Government Drivers’ Association will be held here on May 10 and 11.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, K.M. Shaji, general secretary of the association, demanded that the anomalies in the pay revision of government drivers be rectified.

The special pay for drivers which had been cancelled be reinstated and a risk allowance be paid to drivers, he said.

Minister for Rural Development K.C. Joseph would inaugurate the meeting. A.P. Abdullakkutty, MLA, would preside.

A symposium to be held in the afternoon would be inaugurated by Agriculture Minister K.P. Mohanan. James Mathew, MLA, would deliver the keynote address, the organisers said.

A public meeting to be held in the evening would be inaugurated by Communist Party of India (CPI) State unit secretary Pannian Ravindran, the organisers said.
