PALAKKAD: The Guruvayurappan Temple at Chimaya Tapovanam here was gifted with a golden crown by devotees from Pattambi on Monday.

Anjam Krishnan Namboodiri placed the crown on Guruvayurappan's idol amid chanting of `mantra' by priests and devotees at a special puja.

The crown was crafted by Viyyur K.R. Balan and manufactured by T.P. Rajan of Kavitha Jewellers, Ottappalam. The ceremony was attended by a large number of devotees and officer-bearers of Chinmaya Mission Educational and Cultural Trust.
