Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar has promised a bigger and better version of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) next time.

Felicitating winners of the Season 6 mega prizes at a ceremony here on Thursday, the Minister said: “We saw higher participation in GKSF. A record Rs.55 lakh coupons were sold in Season 6, which added even more sparkle and excitement to the prize draws.”

Certificates presented

The Minister presented certificates to Thundathil Sunnykutty, who won one kg of gold, and second prize winners Joemon from Thodupuzha and Manalath Hairuneesa from Ponnani, who took home half-a-kg of gold each.

Secretary Suman Billa presided over the function and Director, GKSF, U.V. Jose delivered the welcome address. GSKF State coordinator V Vijayan and South Indian Bank DGM N. J. Reddy spoke.

This is the first time GKSF has organised a felicitation ceremony for prize winners. Mementos were also presented to business establishments that sold the prize winning coupons.
