Women do reasonably better in academics and even competitive examinations because they are more focused whereas the reading habits of young boys are more diversified in nature, the survey says.

The survey was conducted by ASSOCHAM Social Development Foundation interviewing 900 girls and 1200 boys in about 15 days time in all metros and cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Indore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Ajmer, Chandigarh, Shimla and Dehradun.
