A fusion of the best acrobatic and creative talents in the circus industry in the country is on display at the Jumbo Circus, which has pitched its tent on the Police Maidan here.

The major highlight of the circus show, which began on October 29, is the performance of an eight-member team of circus artistes from Tanzania. Human pyramid, fire dance, hoop diving, rope skipping and feats performed by animals are drawing crowds.

The circus troupe performing here is the second unit of Jumbo Circus inaugurated by Education Minister M.A. Baby in Kollam on August 21. It has been presented as a fusion of the best acrobatic and creative talent from both Jumbo and Gemini circuses.

Jumbo is said to be the largest circus troupe in India. A major attraction of the troupe is a full-fledged menagerie right from its inception under the leadership of M.V. Shankaran, a circus legend himself.

Ajay Shankar, Mr. Shankaran's son and managing partner of Jumbo and Gemini circuses, Jumbo Circus has been rated as maintaining the best consistency for the past three decades owing to high standards in innovation, presentation, technology and customer preference. It has been voted as the most popular and entertaining circus of India in terms of audience preference and quality rating all over the country by an independent panel of art lovers.
