Four persons were arrested on various charges by the Ernakulam Town Central Police during the combing drive held on Tuesday night.

Kunjumon, 35, of Thevara, was arrested while trying to get away with material stolen from a toddy shop at Ammankovil Road.

The accused had burgled into the building to steal objects worth Rs.10,000 when he found the shop closed. He was arrested from near KSRTC bus stand at around 1 a.m.

Murukan, 35, of Thenkasi, Tamil Nadu, was arrested while attempting to break the shutters of a shop near the State Bank of India at Shanmugham Road around Tuesday midnight. Both the accused were produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate-II.

The police team also arrested Chenniyappan, of Palarivattom, for trading ganja near the KSRTC bus stand.

During night patrol, Shiju, 25, of Eroor was arrested while attempting to break into the State Bank of Travancore branch at Broadway. On interrogation it was found that he was also wanted in a case related to robbing a young lady of her purse and mobile phone from the autorickshaw stand at Ernakulam South Railway Station. He is also an accused in a murder case registered with Hill Palace police. He was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate and remanded.
