Malappuram: Several flights from Gulf countries had a delayed landing on Thursday as fog disrupted air traffic for three hours at the international airport at Karipur in Kozhikode. Most of the flights were diverted to Chennai and Nedumbassery (Kochi) airports, and returned here after the skies cleared, airport sources said. They said the delay was caused between 6.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m.

Indian’s Sharjah-Calicut and Muscat-Calicut flights were diverted to Chennai. Qatar Airways’ Doha-Calicut and Oman Airways’ Muscat-Calicut flights were diverted to Nedumbassery, the sources said. The Dubai-Calicut Air India Express was diverted to Mangalore. — PTI
