Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Museum and Zoo has won the first place among institutions in the competition for exhibition of roses organised at ongoing Flower Show organised by the Kerala Agri- Horticultural Society and the Kerala Rose Society at the Observatory Hills.
Atmanilayam Nursery Gardens, Cheruvarakonam, bagged the second prize and Kuzhippallam Nursery Gardens, Nellimoodu, won the third place, followed by Raj Bhavan.
Saraswathy Varma, Devaswom Board junction, won the first prize in the individual category. Hemalatha Ramakrishnan, Kowdiar, claimed the second prize, with Prasanna, Observatory Lane, coming third.
The Government Secretariat garden also won the top honours in the competition for annuals in the institutional category. The College of Agriculture, Vellayani, was placed second and the Farm Information Centre, Mithranikethan, Vellanad, came third.
Prasanna emerged at the top in the individual event. Saraswathy Varma, Hemalatha Ramakrishnan and Lalitha Jacob, Nandancode also won prizes.
Shalimar, Cheriyakonni, bagged three first prizes, two second prizes and one third prize to claim the top slot in the competition for annuals among commercial establishments.
The Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority, Kollam Supreme, Museum and Zoo, Aksa Nursery and Gardens, Puliyarakonam; Atmanilayam Nursery and Gardens, Raja Agri Floritech and Nursery, Aryanad, and Kuzhippallam Botanical Garden, Nellimoodu, also won prizes in various categories.
In the variety event for institutions, the Government Secretariat again emerged at the top, followed by the College of Agriculture and Kollam Supreme. In the individual category, Prasanna topped the list, with Hemalatha Ramakrishnan and Saraswathy Varma placed second and third respectively.
Atmanilayam Nursery Gardens won the first place among commercial establishments. Shalimar Gardens and Kuzhippallam Gardens claimed second and third places.
