Nedumbassery: The Cochin International airport went through some tense moments on Wednesday when the airport taxi drivers resorted to a flash strike, leaving a number of domestic passengers stranded after their arrival here.

Official sources said that the confrontation began at 11 a.m. when a group of airport taxi drivers tried to obstruct about 85 cars brought to pick up the delegates of the ongoing doctor’s conference in Kochi. The cars belonged to a tour operating agency in Kochi .

The situation worsened further with the taxi drivers refusing to carry out services even for those passengers who had taken pre-paid taxi tickets on their arrival.

The strike ended by 2 p.m.
