KOCHI: Actor-director Sreenivasan has lamented the dearth of directors and producers in the Malayalam film industry who have a proper perspective about the medium of cinema.
He was talking after inaugurating the ‘Metro International Film Festival Kochi 2008,’ being organised by Metro Film Society in association with the Centre for Heritage, Environment and Development of Kochi Corporation, here on Friday.
He said Malayalam film industry has many directors and producers who dish out substandard products. Such people should keep away from cinema. The festival has been categorised into Contemporary World Cinema, Indian Cinema, Malayalam Cinema, Homage, Retrospectives, Short Films, Documentaries, Voices of Water and Human Rights in Frames.
