The Kilimanoor police said on Monday it busted a fake currency racket and arrested four persons in connection with the circulation of fake notes.

Fake notes worth about Rs.80,000 and printing paraphernalia were seized from a house near Nedumangadu.

Police said the accused – Jithin, 21, Adarsh, 20, Shaheen, 20, and Vishnu, 22 – were arrested after they tried to get away by giving fake notes at a petrol pump at Kilimanoor. Their interrogation led the police to the house of a man named Rajesh near Nedumangadu, from where more fake notes and printing equipment were seized. Police are searching for Rajesh while the rest were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
