KOZHIKODE: Keralites' craze for films is well known. Politicians too are aware of the popularity of films.

No wonder why a councillor raised the issue of a theatre charging Rs.10 extra for a first class ticket at the Vadakara municipality's council meeting the other day.

The councillor demanded an enquiry into the issue of extra fare.

The excess charge would be there for a week. Reports said the additional Rs.10, apart from the ticket price of Rs.30, is the handiwork of the film production company and there are laws to charge excess for one week, if necessary. Now it is not known whether the councillor is a fan of the film's lead or an ardent film buff. But the people's representative is surely taking up a people's cause. That's for sure.
