M.K. Muneer, Minister for Panchayats and Social Welfare, will inaugurate the awareness seminar and heart check-up camp to be organised jointly by Lourdes Hospital and local unit of the Indian Medical Association to mark World Heart Day on Saturday.

Father Sabu Nedunilath, director of Lourdes Hospital, will preside over the function to be held at the hospital auditorium and Dr. Abraham Varghese, president, Kochi IMA, will deliver the message on World Heart Day message “One World, One Home, One Heart”.

The Minister will also release book ‘Women and cardiac problem’ written by Dr. George Thayyil, senior consultant cardiologist. Women Civil Police Officers and inmates of orphanages and rescue homes in the city will be given preference in the heart check-up camp that follows.

The medical wing of the Prajapita Brahmakumaris Easwariya Viswa Vidyalaya will organise a walkathon to mark the World Heart Day. The walkathon will start from the Durbar Hall Grounds and proceed to Menaka Junction, High Court Junction before returning to the DH Grounds.
