The State’s first mobile dispensary service of the Employees State Insurance (ESI) Corporation started at the Ezhukone ESI Hospital in the district on Wednesday.

The service was launched by Union Minister of State for Labour Kodikunnil Suresh.

Addressing the function, Mr. Suresh said the ESI was committed to ensuring the welfare of all workers, and schemes such as the mobile dispensary were part of such a commitment. He said moves were afoot to start a dialysis unit at the Ezhukone ESI Hospital. The hospital would soon be upgraded into a 300-bed hospital, he said. Various moderisation programmes for the Ezhukone hospital had been cleared by the ESI Corporation and would commence soon.
