KOCHI: The district has registered an increase of Rs. 60.10 crore in resource mobilisation by various departments till August 31 during this financial year compared to what was achieved during the same period in the last fiscal.
The assessment came at a review meeting of the district level resource mobilisation committee chaired by District Collector M. Beena on Tuesday.
While the district mobilised resources worth Rs. 2,492.8 crore till August end during the last financial year, it went up to Rs. 2,552.9 crore during the same period in this fiscal.
Sales tax department topped the chart collecting Rs. 2,325 crore till now. Forest department and Excise departments collected Rs. 15.6 crore and Rs. 12.48 crore respectively.
Registration department has collected Rs. 91.9 crore as stamp duty and Rs. 19.66 crore as registration duty. Revenue generated by the motor vehicles department stood at Rs. 72.41 crore, while lottery department generated revenue worth Rs. 10.81 crore.
Lottery department has earned Rs. 1.28 crore more than what it was during the same period in the last fiscal.
Land tax accounted for Rs. 5.83 crore and revenue recovery generated Rs. 25.57 crore. Dr. Beena had warned of stringent action against officials going slack on revenue mobilisation.
Deputy Collector (Revenue Recovery) P. Indira Devi was also present.
