Kozhikode: The guidance-cum-orientation programme being organised by The Hindu-EducationPlus for students seeking admission to professional courses will be held here on Thursday.
While the morning session will introduce the State government's online counselling process for those seeking admission to engineering, medicine and allied courses, the post-lunch session, a new addition, will familiarise students with an array of other professional disciplines which promise rewarding careers.
Among the highlights of the morning session are the presentations by B.S. Warrier and A. Krishna Swamy, education experts, and the Joint Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, who will speak about the online counselling process.
Dr. Warrier will share with participants his vast knowledge and experience of counselling students on professional education for decades.
Mr. Krishna Swamy will focus on engineering education.
The venue for the programme is Hotel Calicut Tower on Mavoor Road (opposite Mofussil Bus Stand). Participants can go for spot registration. Registration forms are also available during working hours on Wednesday at the office of The Hindu located at Shaaz Building, Near Sharada Hospital, Kannur Road (ph: 0495 2762201/2/3).
Students can also provisionally register themselves for the programme by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. In this case, participants will have to finish registration formalities at the venue on programme day, before the start of the presentations at 9.30 a.m. Such participants are requested to reach the venue at 8.30 a.m. The registration fee is Rs.75. A comprehensive handbook with detailed information on professional courses will be provided to each participant.
