KOLLAM: The Forest Department, in association with the Tourism Department and the Veliyam grama panchayat, is planning an eco-tourism project at the Maruthi hillock near Muttara in Kollam district.

Eco-Tourism Director T.P. Narayanankutty, along with Eco-Tourism architect S. Sasikumar and Neduvathur MLA B. Raghavan, visited the hillock for a study on Saturday. Mr. Narayanankutty said the project would be one that did not disturb the environment. In order to get more suggestions from the local people on the project, the Eco-Tourism Department will conduct a seminar at the hillock by October 20.

After that, the project will be prepared.
