Certain religious groups influenced sections of voters at the recent elections, according to CPI (M) district secretary K.J. Thomas.

Inaugurating the 30th annual meet of the DYFI Kerala State Committee held here on Wednesday, Mr. Thomas said that various developmental reforms, introduced by the State Government, stood in the way of vested interests of various religious leaders. “The Educational Bill, which was intended to create equality in the education sector, was opposed vehemently by college managements, headed by the Catholic Church ,” he alleged.
