Local bodies and voluntary agencies have been directed to observe three days from Sunday as ‘dry days’ by preventing water logging so that population of mosquitoes will not increase as part of the measures to prevent the outbreak of dengue fever.

It was pointed out by the District Collector that the most effective way to prevent dengue fever was to eradicate mosquitoes by preventing water logging since mosquitoes breed in stagnant water.
