The district administration, in collaboration with the District Tourism Promotion Council and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy, is organising an evening of drama at the Durbar Hall grounds on Vishu Day from 6.30 p.m. at the open air theatre.

The programme was part of the year-long programme linked to the renovation of the Durbar Hall grounds, said a press release citing District Collector P. I. Sheik Pareeth here on Saturday.

The release said it was the first time that the district administration was organising an evening of drama on the Vishu day.

The programme is being organised in recognition of the role played by the Malayalam theatre in social reforms in the State in the 1950s and 1960s. The programmes would be led by Thoppil Anto, the press release said.
