37 Government High Schools to benefit from project
Kozhikode: The Kozhikode district panchayat will give financial aid to implement the EDUSAT project in 37 Government High Schools in the district. This was decided at a meeting of the district panchayat here on Saturday.
District panchayat president K.P. Kunahammedkutty chaired the meeting. Education Standing Committee chairman K. Radhakrishnan presented a project report.
Aid for schools
The State Government will provide aid to three schools in the district for implementing the EDUSAT project. Now 40 schools in the district will get the benefit, with the district panchayat giving its nod for financing 37 schools.
Around 150 compact discs prepared by the SCERT will be distributed to 40 schools. A sum of Rs.16,500 each will also be given to eight higher secondary schools for purchasing laboratory equipment.
The meeting also decided to take steps to stop the shift system in schools of the district. High schools at Iringalloor, Beypore, Payyoli and Thamarassery were having the shift system.
