The district convention of Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi will be held in Kozhikode City on January 29 and 30.

According to a press release, the conference will officially begin with a procession from Kozhikode beach to Muthalakkulam grounds on January 29 led by district level leaders of the samithi.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal will inaugurate the public convention to be held at Muthalakkulam while president of the samithi T. Naziruddeen will preside over the inaugural function.

The delegates’ conference, to be held at Tagore Centenary Hall on January 30, will be inaugurated by Minister for Panchayats and Social Welfare M.K. Muneer at 10 a.m. Former Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Noted industrialists Gokulam Gopalan and P.K. Ahamed will be honoured on the occasion. A complete district council of the samithi will meet at 2.30 p.m.

The preparations for the district convention kicked off on January 15 with the women’s convention.

The Ssamithi is observing January 21 as a flag day. A mass run, spreading the message ‘Clean Kerala’, will be held on January 25 from West Hill at 7 a.m. and conclude at Mananchira.

On January 28, a flag post rally will begin from Azhiyoor while a flag rally will begin from Adivaram. Both the rallies will travel across the district and conclude at Vyapara Bhavan at 4 p.m.
