The occurrence of heart diseases has risen considerably over the past few decades with stress, unhealthy diets and a lack of exercise considered the main culprits behind this trend. To educate the public on a healthy lifestyle to keep heart diseases at bay, Bimal Chhajer, cardiologist, will lead a two-hour discussion on the subject at Trivandrum Hotel starting 6 p.m. on Monday.

A press release here on Friday said Dr. Chhajer was against unnecessary medical tests. There were proven ways to reverse the symptoms by simply following dietary and lifestyle changes, it said.

The talk on “Preventing and reversing heart diseases” is being organised by the city-based non-governmental organisation Chakshumathi Charitable Trust and the New Delhi-based Science and Art of Living, which was founded by Dr. Chhajer. Entry is free.
