Action will be initiated against autorickshaw drivers who fail to comply with the government order dated November 30, 2012, which requires them to revise the charges and get the registered seal on their meters, the Legal Metrology Assistant Controller has announced. A special squad has been set up to conduct inspections and take action, including slapping a fine of Rs.10,000, against erring drivers. The meters could be sealed after a road test, which is conducted at Neyyattinkara, Nedumangad, Attingal, Kazhakuttam and Pattom. The certificates can be obtained from the office of the Legal Metrology Inspector within three days of the test.
