The government has issued orders making dies non applicable for a section of government employees participating in the indefinite strike from January 8.

An official press note citing the order said no employee, including the Gazetted officers, would be sanctioned leave on the days of strike except under extraordinary circumstances such as illness. However, employees on sanctioned leave can be called back for duty in emergency situations.

District Collectors and heads of departments have been directed to ensure the security of employees not on strike. Destruction of public property and harassment of women will invite prosecution, the press note added.

Employees on probation will be served show-cause notice for participating in the strike. Heads of departments will have to report attendance and other details to the General Administration department before 11 a.m. on the days of strike. The government order can be accessed on the website
