KOZHIKODE: Public demand for the completion of the approach road to the Kothi bridge here is growing stronger. The Citizen’s Intellectual Educational Social and Cultural Organisation (Ciesco) will take out a march and hold a dharna on December 18, to demand completion of the work. Organising committee members said though the bridge was completed 11 years ago, the work of the approach road was being delayed because of the apathetic attitude of the authorities.

The work is being delayed because of problems with land acquisition and rehabilitation of people dislodged at Chamundivalappu at Payanakkal. If the approach road is completed, residents of Pallikkandy, Thekkepuram, Chakkumkadave and Payyanakkal will benefit.

Calicut Chamber of Commerce president P.V. Gangadharan will inaugurate the march. The march will begin at 10 a.m. from the ‘yathimkhana’ premises at Mukhadar, organisers said.
