Development projects should be region-specific: Thiruvanchoor

Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has stressed on the need to give shape to development projects according to the specific needs of the respective region. He cautioned against emulating growth strategies in different places. “Ground realities must be taken into account while formulating the path for development”, he added.

He was speaking while launching a drinking water project for Ettumanoor town on Tuesday evening.

On the same occasion, Panchayats Minister M.K. Muneer commissioned the new office of Ettumanoor grama panchayat and a Kudumbasree hypermarket. In his address, Mr. Muneer said the scientific implementation of projects had resulted in transparency in the functioning of local self governments.

Jose K. Mani, MP, inaugurated the ‘Pakalveedu’, a homoeopathic hospital and a high-mast lamp in the town. Thomas Chazhikadan, ex-MLA, handed over the key of the homoeopathic hospital to District Medical Officer (Homoeo) N. Sabu. Ettumanoor grama panchayat president James Thomas presided over the function. Ettumanoor block panchayat president Sandhya Banerjee, district panchayat members Sally George, Josemon Mundakkal, Ettumanoor grama panchayat members P. Chandrakumar and secretary O.S. Veerendran also spoke on the occasion.
