THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to wield the stick to persuade those local bodies which are yet to finalise their Plan documents within the extended period allowed to them. Local Self-Government Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty told a meeting convened here on Thursday to review the situation that they would have to face a ten per cent cut in their plan allocation if they did not finalise their Plan documents by September 25.

The Minister said that 1,006 of the 1,223 local bodies had finalised their Plan documents. – Special Correspondent
