The Kerala Dalit Mahasabha has taken exception to the controversial remarks recently made by Government Chief Whip P.C. George. At a press conference here on Saturday, Mahasabha president K.K. Kochu said the defamatory observations Mr. George had made about Dalits and residents of orphanages could not be tolerated.

“In the past too, Mr. George has made similar offensive statements against certain other communities. He has come under public criticism for his comments on various issues that did not befit a people’s representative. We demand his resignation from the post of the Chief Whip,” he said. Mr. Kochu also urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and leaders of political parties to adopt a strong stance against Mr. George.
