KOCHI: Steps have to be taken to end the dominance of money power and the entry of people with a criminal background into politics, former Judge of the Supreme Court and chairman of the Janaseva Samity, V. R. Krishna Iyer has said.

The foundation of democracy will be in peril if candidates are able to use money power to gain votes. Those with criminal cases pending against them must be disqualified from contesting, he added.—Staff Reporter
