There is an urgent need to create an easily accessible, user-friendly database on research findings in Ayurveda, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India R. Chidamabaram has said.

He was inaugurating a seminar on ‘Ayurveda in the 21 {+s} {+t} century,' organised by Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS), Kottakkal, as part of the ‘navathi' celebrations of its chief physician P.K. Warrier here on Sunday.

The content should be able to stand the scrutiny of modern science, he said.

M.S. Valiathan, National Research Professor at Manipal University, delivered the ‘navathi' oration.

Dr. Warrier gave away the Aryavaidyan P. Madhava Varier Memorial Gold Medal, Aryavaidyan S. Varier Memorial Endowment prize, Aryavaidyan N.V.K. Varier Endowment Prize, and the Arya Vaidya Sala Centenary Award 2010 at the ceremony.
